Today we have three new things in the portfolio, all of which contain lovely artist illustrations!

Speaking of artists, we are happy to welcome Leslie Saito of The Paper Princess to our group. She not only does great vector illustration, but she can put together a mean collage as well! We've been working with her a bit behind the scenes, so she should have some projects in her Aeolidia portfolio within the next month or so.

CKGold just keeps getting better and better, and now the wish lists have become actual gift registries (you can specify how many you want, and when friends buy things for you, they're removed from your list). Google Checkout now works with CKGold as well!. Zen Cart has a new version that promises to work with PayPal Pro, which I know a lot of you have been looking for!

Oops, we did it again! We ended up with a few too many projects happening at once and have been hard at work trying to catch up. The good news is it looks like Shoshanna has some room in her schedule in December, so please don't hesitate to contact us!

The portfolio has been updated, with the Sprout Studio site, which I absolutely loved working on, as well as a new illustrated logo by Voz, as well as the Bamboletta site, designed by Shoshanna, with illustrations by Melissa.

I just completed a big portfolio update, including business cards added to the Summer Salt Design and Garnish projects, a newsletter template My Sunset Road, and eight new projects, three of which include great new work by three Aeolidia artists!

Oh, and did I forget to mention we passed the 200 projects mark with this update? Well, we did!

We whipped up the quickest redesign ever for Wickedly Chic and that's in the portfolio now. As always, more to come.

Hello, I sneaked a little portfolio update in today.

I am back from vacation and we're gearing up for a busy summer here at Aeolidia! The sites that went live while I was out of town have been added to the portfolio (including a few we've been working on for a long time!) and we are finishing off a few more sites right now.

Oh hi! Did I mention I'm going to be on vacation for five weeks? Does it sound a little crazy to you? It sounds a little crazy to me! Shoshanna will be around, and we are coming up with our plan to make sure everything goes smoothly while I'm away. I will be checking email sporadically, and all emergencies will be taken care of. Shoshanna will also be available for small projects and updates during May and June.

I will return on June 25th, and at that time I'll be scheduling my summer full of projects. If you would like to see about being included in our summer roster, please contact us. You will most likely get an autoreply saying that I will talk to you in late June, as we won't be taking on new projects before then.

It is going to be a bit crazy around here as I have potentially a dozen sites to put live in the next three weeks before my Scandinavian vacation. Whew, we have been finishing up projects left and right around here! Four new projects in the portfolio today, including three CKGold sites and a Wordpress blog. Super exciting! We have a new blog from the charming fellow who brought you Mahar Drygoods and a brand new shop from a favorite shopping blog, Modish!

Shoshanna and I totally bit off more than we could chew this spring, but we have been chewing away and are now spitting out tasty goodness all over the place. Ha ha, that was disgusting. Our schedules are still packed, but we are now taking on a select few projects for work this summer - do contact us if you'd like to work with us then.

I've been sneaking things into the portfolio here and there, but it's been a while since a news update. Most recently added: Rare Device! See how we updated and improved the shop.

We are finishing up a bunch of great sites right now, and starting up some new ones. We're busier than ever, as projects keep pouring in that look too fun to turn down! We would still love to hear from you, but things are going to be a bit slow when it comes to new projects for the next few months.

We actually have a few new projects completed right now, but I'm cheating and spacing them out so they can each spend a little while on the home page. Right now: lovely CKGold record label/distro site featuring custom illustration by Jen Corace. Coming up: a Daniele Young illustration, a site illustrated by Teresa Levy, and a site or two designed by Shoshanna. Me? I am still doing redesigns (coming to the portfolio as they get done!) and upgrades.

We have a new redesign in the portfolio, as well as a collection of cowgirl illustrations by Aimee Ray.

In newsy news, we're going to be pretty busy for a bit here at Aeolidia, as it still seems to be the season for redesigns, and I also see quite a few Zen Cart upgrades on the horizon. The portfolio will probably be added to a bit more slowly for the next couple of months while we focus more on this technical work.

I am the "Ask an Expert" for the month of September over at the Make It blog. Shannon asked some great questions and you can also see a pic of my cat sitting on my desk with my computers - thrill!

Guess what? We have a new artist! Jaime Zollars can do custom drawings for your site in either a painted or illustrated style, and we're glad to have her on board.

I added Prickly Pear to the portfolio, as well as some print work for Little Mouse Vintage.

Another new artist! Chad Walker's work is wistful and sweet. I have a lot of little things I'll be sprinkling into the portfolio soon (mostly print work), and we are finishing up some projects right now. So more soon, once I can catch my breath!

We have a new artist - Márta Windeisen of KittenChops! You may recognize her work from Starbucks products. Her style is whimsical and fantastical and she does great logos as well. We also have a new site in the portfolio - Little Mouse Vintage.

Another redesign project in the portfolio - and we have a bunch more coming up! It seems to be redesign season. These are redesigns of sites we created originally, and we're so glad our clients come back to us when they want a fresh look.

The portfolio has been overhauled, and I've added seven new things to it. It is now database-driven and that will make it much easier for me to make changes and additions to it - about time!

The start of this month has been a flurry of getting projects finished up, so there are now even more new things in the portfolio, including one illustrated by Aimee Ray.

Finishing up just means I can get a start on other projects, though, so expect more and more!

Hi! There are three new sites in the portfolio and I've added some extra work to existing sites (stickers, postcards, etc.). Yes, we can design stickers for you - fun! I've been working with a few CKGold sites recently, and I really like it. As soon as I get one done, that cart software will have its own section in the portfolio.

The good news around here is that we are using some excellent new project management software that has us on the ball like never before. I'm poised to finish off quite a few more projects in the next weeks. The bad news is our schedules are currently full to the brim. Hey! If your website uses any kind of shopping cart, catalog, blog, CMS, or mailing list software, it is very likely that all of your information is kept in a MySQL database. You need to back that database up to make sure if anything goes wrong you will be able to rebuild your website from the rubble that remains after database information is lost.

In the interest of keeping this simple and painless, we are now offering a backup service. To put this in our hands and be able to sleep well at night knowing your data is safe, please see our backup plans page.

We can also back up your site files for you, whether you use a database or not.

You can sign up for six months here and I will take care of all the messy stuff and be there to save you if anything goes wrong.

Oh man, you guys! You are keeping us busy lately! There has been a big boom in our popularity over the summer and we are setting up new clients all the time. Please note: if you write me today wanting a site, it is not going to be up immediately. I try to start all projects within a week or two of down payment, and get projects finished within two months of starting them. We are still accepting new clients but you will always be added to the bottom of our list, as we work on projects chronologically based on start date.

Extra note: If you choose a prefab design your site will be completed much more quickly - I've actually been able to finish a few of these in record time lately.

I have also been keeping myself busy, setting up an awesome support site for clients to use, and setting up demos of both Cartkeeper and Zen Cart. If you are a current or past client who needs the support link, let me know. If you are thinking about working with us and you're trying to decide on a shopping cart program, contact me, and I'll send you the link and login information for testing out the carts and their administration areas. I am pleased to announce something very special in the prefab designs - a full site design with illustrations by Aimee Ray! This site would work perfectly for a playful, fun, youthful shop. If you're interested, snap it up right away by contacting me - I expect this one to go fast. Go see it.

On that note, I have recently done two Zen Cart sites (coming to the portfolio soon!) so quickly and inexpensively that it knocked my own socks off, to say nothing of the socks of my clients. One was a prefab, and the other was based on a prefab, with a new header, background, and color scheme.

It turns out that if you know exactly what you want, and are happy with the basic way that Zen Cart works, I can have your site up in a matter of days for less than $200!? For this to work, it has to be a simple design and you have to not be terribly picky about how the cart works and looks. Of course, if you are a picky gal (after my own heart) we can definitely find the time to work out something perfect for you.

We have a new site in the portfolio from Shoshanna, and hey look - I added three new prefab designs. Snap 'em up for a super quick and affordable website! Oh, and I updated the FAQ.

Daniele Young has done the illustrations for my most recently-finished website, Peony Patch. The site looks pulled together and lovely, and I hope you'll consider hiring an Aeolidia artist when having your site designed.

I have completely revised the web design section of Aeolidia. It now has a lot more information on the services we offer, and all of your choices and options are laid out for you more clearly. Visit the Choices page to compare shopping cart programs, artists, designers, or choose a pre-fab design. Testimonials are now linked from the brown bar on the portfolio page, and all of our services are listed, with links to more detail on each. Please write so we can discuss this information with you in more detail.

In other news, Chris and I are spending June in England! It will be a working holiday, and we will continue work on our existing projects at night in London. We may be a bit slow to respond in June, but please don't hesitate to contact us! We are still accepting new work and will be happy to discuss your project with you.

In big news, it's gotten busy enough around here that we've added a third member to the Aeolidia team, Shoshanna Love. This is excellent news, as it allows us to take on more projects and get things done more quickly. Shoshanna is a very talented designer, and we are very happy to have her with us.

In the next month or so, expect to see the entire design section of our site revamped to include more and better information on choosing designers, artists, prefabs, and ecommerce programs. While I'm working on this, if you request design work from us, I may send you more info on working with Shoshanna that is not yet on the site. Expect to see her work in the portfolio soon.

When designing a web shop, I usually use one of two ecommerce programs. I have put together a page that compares the features of these two programs with each other, and with just using a plain PayPal cart, or a slightly more advanced Mals-E set up. See the chart to decide which will work best for you! I will add it to the design section somewhere when I've got time.

I've been working on my own site in between other jobs for the last month, and here is the new design!

There are a lot of new sections to the site, as well as improvements on the old ones. New things include my web design portfolio, testimonials, and more information on the process of designing websites. A brand new feature is a gallery of sites I have designed that were never used - these can be purchased from me for cheap and modified for your site.

Improvements to old elements of the site include a detailed about page that has the story of how I got started designing websites. I have also added a "comments" script to the photo gallery, so if you take a look at my photos and have anything at all to say, please leave a comment! I'd love to hear from you.
